Rick Montgomery
Rick brings over 20 years of international aid experience to Small Scale Farms. Inspired by Tibetan humanitarian Tendol Gyalzur, Rick founded Global Roots, a nonprofit that empowers local heroes to address humanitarian and ecological challenges in regions like Gaza, Afghanistan, and Nigeria. In 2010, he led a community-led food security project in Afghanistan with NATO support.
Recognizing the vital role of small-scale farmers, Rick partnered with Ted Michon in 2018 to create an app helping farmers access markets, leading to the launch of "Small Scale Farms" in 2019. Rick holds a degree in International Studies and speaks multiple languages, including Mandarin and Italian.
Ted Michon
Ted brings over 20 years of expertise in logistics and IT to Small Scale Farms. He began his career with American President Lines in Hong Kong, working across IT, marketing, and terminal operations, before furthering his experience with Navis, Gap Inc., and Ports America.
As a co-founder of Till Mobile, Ted helped develop technology to organize smallholder farmers and improve logistics. In 2018, he teamed up with Rick Montgomery to create an app for small-scale farmers, leading to the launch of "Small Scale Farms" in 2019. Ted holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Business.
Nick Crafford
Nick brings over 15 years of experience in technology leadership and engineering, spanning roles from developer to CTO. As co-founder and CTO of Till Mobile, he is passionate about leveraging technology to connect small-scale farmers globally.
Nick’s recent roles include CTO of Kairn, board member and strategist for Beeline Connect, and technology lead for Specialized Bicycle Components' data-sharing platform. He holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Redlands.
Anthony Kigondu
Anthony Kigondu specializes in administrative transparency and project oversight, managing Small Scale Farms' day-to-day operations in East Africa. Since 2013, as the country leader for Global Roots, he has ensured that every donated dollar is used effectively to support food security projects across Kenya.
Previously, Anthony worked as a photographer for media, corporate companies, and NGOs, including Transparency International, and spent 15 years with CC Africa, a leading safari company. An accomplished photographer, he has captured images across East Africa, with a focus on his home country, Kenya.
Ken Crafford
Ken Crafford is a renowned IT entrepreneur focused on driving the future of digital business transformation. He currently serves as CEO of StrataFusion Group, Inc. and sits on the boards of several emerging tech companies.
With over 35 years of experience, Ken has led strategic technology services, enterprise applications, and cloud technology projects, overseeing complex global initiatives across multiple industries and technologies.
